TELE CRUZ was born TIELE THORNE on June 8, 1983. It didn’t take long before Cruz understood that music was his biggest passion in life and dreamed of nothing more than turning his passion into his livelihood . Cruze’s first dance steps were seen by family and friend in various clubs and streets. As he mastered his dancing, he became confident in entertaining and joined the leading sound system in the country as a disc jockey (DJ). Don’t think it stopped there, for the talented musician who lives in the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, the name DJ CRUZ / TELE CRUZ was born when he became the leading disc jockey on a popular cruise line as he entertained millions around the world.
In the summer of 2009, Tele Cruz released his second single, ‘Material Tings’ featuring Ward 1. It’s a groovy Soca, happy piece that fits both international and local ears according to the critics who have listened to the record. Currently the single is playing on radio stations from New York and Florida into the very depths of the Caribbean. ‘Material Tings’ held the 2 position in Bermuda on the Caribbean Count Down. The video for ‘Material Tings’ was shot along Tobago’s beaches and throughout the famous Nylon Pool. The video has been requested by popular Caribbean television stations and fans alike. The video spent 6 consecutive weeks at the number 2 position on Reggae Entertainment Television (RETV) in Jamaica.
In 2010 while his hit single “Material Tings” was still at the top of the charts, Cruz continued on his path to success by adding professional model and business entrepreneur to his resume with the opening of “Cruz Cocktail Bar & Bistro” in Tobago.
You ask, “What can I expect from Tele Cruz next?” On 1/1/11 Tele Cruz Release his third single “Sail Away” featuring Umi Marcano just in time for Carnival 2011 and it’s currently climbing the Caribbean charts. So, keep your eyes and ears open and get ready for more from Tele Cruz !
