When most people think of Splitter Records / Splitta Squad, they automatically think of Tampa Tony. Tampa Tony, being Splitter Records main priority, had much success. Gracing the cover of Ozone Magazine (twice). Reaching outside the limits of the music industry, Splitter Records has been able to successfully brand itself such as putting out merchandise; Da Splitta (selling 40,000+ & featured in High Times Magazine), Bobble Heads and even their own line of DS Sneakers. Not only being able to brand themselves, Splitter Records is also able to maintain a great fan base with southern classics such as “Keep Jukin’”, “She Lies” “Bobblehead, “Can’t Juke Without Me” and most noted Trick Daddy’s” J.O.D.D. “featuring Tampa Tony and Khia, from Trick Daddy’s Thug Matrimony Album. (J.O.D.D. is featured in movies – “Into The Blue” & “40 Year Old Virgin” and the video game – “Midnight Club 3 – Dub City”). However, due to the unfortunate circumstances of Tampa Tony, the label has been forced to redirect its focus. Splitter Records has now introduce Da Splitta Squad. One of their biggest accomplishments to date is gracing the stage in front of over 40,000 fans at Jamaica’s Reggae Fest, STING in Dec 26, 2009, followed by two promo tours of the island. Great and Chuck (Splitta Squad) have been with the label from the beginning and are currently working on a group project, The Re-Creation, with the growing success of their crossover smash single, “Superstar”, the rest of the album should be full of hits says Julia Beverly, Ozone Magazine.
